Year 1- Wild about Wildflowers

What can you do to Conserve Wildflowers?

Psilostrophe cooperi (Paperflower)Wildflowers are an important part of natural landscapes and biological communities. Please respect them. Irresponsible collection of wildflowers can devastate natural populations.
  • Do not collect seeds from public lands, preserves, or protected areas.
  • If you’re collecting on private land, be sure to get permission from the property owner.
  • Be careful not to trample plants if you are photographing or inspecting them up close.
  • Never collect endangered species.
  • Never dig up plants.
  • Do not pick flowers. Every flower you pick reduces the number of seeds available for subsequent years.
