Tucson, AZ – Ever wonder what is included with admission to the Gardens? More than just a botanical escape in the center of the city showcasing 17 specialty gardens, rotating Porter House gallery exhibits, Birdhouse café and a fabulous gift shop, Tucson Botanical Gardens offers its visitors a variety of garden tours throughout the month. Come in and enjoy!
About the Garden Tours:
EXPLORING TUCSON BOTANICAL GARDENS
Fridays, 10 a.m. (September through May) • 9 a.m. (June through August) 10 a.m. (Sept.)
Take advantage of the delightful mornings at the Gardens. This tour delivers some fascinating plant trivia, offers history of the Gardens and familiarizes you with our native flora as well as the wide variety of plants that grow in Tucson.
BIRDS AND GARDENING TOUR
First and fourth Wednesday of the month, 10 a.m.
(September through May)
This 45-minute tour explores the plants and gardening practices that will attract birds to your backyard. We also look for and identify the birds that visit the Gardens and urban Tucson.
HISTORICAL TOUR OF THE GARDENS
Third Thursday of the month, 10 a.m.
(September through May)
Want to learn more about the original gardeners of the Gardens? Take a trip back in time with a tour that focuses on the family life of Bernice and Rutger Porter. Discover the historical significance of the property, learn about some of Mrs. Porter’s favorite plants and see some special nooks and secret places.
