Behind-the-Scenes with Frida

Join Director of Education, Ashely Pedersen, for happy hour (BYOB/W) and a conversation about acclaimed Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, who shared her keen appreciation of nature though the design of her home garden at the Casa Azul and the use of botanical imagery in her artwork.  We will explore Frida’s captivating life story, investigate some of her artwork, and take a peek backstage of the blockbuster exhibition Frida Kahlo: Art, Garden, Life.   Includes admission to the Gardens during Twilight Thursday.

Ashley Pedersen is the Director of Education at the Tucson Botanical Gardens where she coordinates youth and adult education programs and interpretation at the Gardens.  Ashley is excited to share what she has learned about acclaimed artist, Frida Kahlo, through the development of public programming around our current Gardens-wide exhibition,  Frida Kahlo: Art, Garden, Life.
