Garden Tours

A variety of tours are offered throughout the year, depending on the season and Garden happenings. Taking a tour is a great way to learn about the history and plant collection at the Gardens. Garden Discovery Stations and Tours are contingent on docent availability and may be cancelled without prior notification. For an additional fee, groups may request a special time for any of the tours listed below.

This delightful morning tour offers a brief history of the Gardens, familiarizes guests with our native flora and showcases the wide variety of plants that grow successfully in Tucson.

Second Tuesday, monthly, 9 a.m.

Join the Tucson Audubon Society for a garden bird walk, especially for beginning bird watchers. You’ll learn introductory birdwatching techniques and get an idea of how and why gardens, including yours at home, attract and support birds. Please bring your own binoculars.  There will be a limited number of binoculars available for guests to borrow.

Interesting photography involves combinations of light, patterns, and color.  At the Gardens, there are visual opportunities that vary from day to day and season to season.  This walking tour will help participants develop an eye for lighting and composition through looking, discussing, and mutual learning.

The Gardens is home to over 100 different species of trees, many of which have been growing here for decades. This tour introduces some of the most common trees found in Tucson’s urban landscape and shares techniques on how to successfully chose and care for trees at home.

Tucson Botanical Gardens is pleased to offer audio tours to help visitors explore our garden spaces.  You can access the tours on your own smart phone or other mobile device.
